The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked a document circulating on social media claiming to be an official public notice containing the names of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the Federal House of Representatives elections in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked a document circulating on social media claiming to be an official public notice containing the names of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the Federal House of Representatives elections in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a statement, the Commission described the document as fake, misleading, and not issued by INEC.

According to the Commission, it has neither authorized nor published any such notice, stressing that the purported publication did not originate from any official INEC platform or electoral process.

INEC further noted that the signature appearing on the document does not belong to the Secretary to the Commission, describing it as fraudulent.

The electoral body therefore urged members of the public, political parties, stakeholders, and media organizations to disregard the document entirely and rely only on information released through its official communication channels.

INEC reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely, accurate, and credible information on all electoral activities and cautioned against the spread of misinformation capable of misleading the public.
