A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Seye Oladejo, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Democracy Day address as a reassuring and inspiring message that reflects courageous leadership, national vision, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s progress.

In a statement issued on Friday, Oladejo said the President’s speech demonstrated a clear understanding of the challenges facing the country and showcased the determination required to overcome them.

According to him, at a time when Nigerians are yearning for renewed hope, security, and economic prosperity, the President’s address reinforced confidence in the nation’s democratic institutions and their ability to respond to the aspirations of the people.

He commended President Tinubu’s firm commitment to democratic principles, constitutional governance, and respect for the mandate of the electorate, describing the stance as worthy of support from all patriotic Nigerians.

Oladejo noted that the President’s reaffirmation that democracy remains the best system of government, despite its imperfections, was particularly inspiring. He added that the recognition of the sacrifices made by pro-democracy heroes and the struggles that culminated in the birth of the Fourth Republic serves as an important reminder of the collective efforts that secured Nigeria’s democratic freedoms.

The APC chieftain further praised the President’s emphasis on national unity, inclusiveness, and active citizen participation, stating that the message resonates with the aspirations of Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious divides.

He said the President’s call for dialogue, cooperation, and shared responsibility offers a practical pathway to strengthening national cohesion and achieving sustainable development.

Oladejo also welcomed the administration’s renewed commitment to tackling insecurity, advancing economic reforms, and strengthening democratic institutions. While acknowledging the challenges associated with the reform process, he expressed confidence that the measures being implemented would ultimately deliver a safer, more prosperous, and equitable Nigeria.

As the nation marks Democracy Day, he urged Nigerians to remain committed to the democratic process through active citizenship, constructive engagement, and collective participation in nation-building.

Oladejo concluded that President Tinubu’s address reflected leadership anchored on courage, conviction, and faith in the Nigerian project, describing the speech as a clarion call for Nigerians to set aside partisan differences and work together towards building a peaceful, united, and prosperous nation.
