APC Postpones House of Representatives Primaries to May 16

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections.

According to a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the primary election, earlier scheduled to hold this week, will now take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The party, however, clarified that the dates earlier announced for the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, Governorship, and Presidential primaries remain unchanged.

Under the revised timetable released by the APC, the primary elections will now hold as follows:

House of Representatives – Saturday, May 16, 2026

Senate – Monday, May 18, 2026

State House of Assembly – Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Governorship – Thursday, May 21, 2026

Presidential – Saturday, May 23, 2026

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent and orderly primary election process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
