In furtherance of his administration’s FINE Agenda, particularly its focus on ensuring the well-being of the people, the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, has successfully hosted the maiden edition of the Onigbongbo LCDA Mega Health Outreach, delivering essential healthcare services to more than 500 residents.
The outreach, held at Bola Memorial Anglican Primary School, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, GRA Ikeja, drew a large turnout of community members who benefited from a wide range of free medical services. The initiative was designed to promote preventive healthcare, raise awareness on common health conditions, and improve access to quality medical services at the grassroots level.
The event was attended by the Executive Chairman, Vice Chairman, Ward Councillors, Supervisors, Special Advisers, and other key stakeholders, all demonstrating a shared commitment to advancing community health.
A major highlight of the outreach was an in-depth health education session, where medical professionals enlightened residents on chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. Emphasis was placed on early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and the importance of routine medical checkups.
Beneficiaries received a variety of free healthcare services, including vital signs checks (height, weight, and BMI), blood pressure screening, random blood glucose testing, malaria rapid diagnostic testing, medical consultations with qualified doctors, and the provision of free medications.
The programme also featured specialized services such as eye care, where residents underwent screenings, received reading glasses, and accessed treatment for eye-related conditions. In addition, a family planning unit provided education on reproductive health and access to various contraceptive options.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Adebanjo expressed appreciation to residents for their strong turnout and confidence in the initiative. He encouraged continuous community engagement and urged residents to voice their concerns on issues requiring government intervention.
He further assured that the health outreach marks the beginning of sustained, people-oriented healthcare interventions under his administration.
Highlighting previous efforts, the chairman noted that over 200 elderly residents were enrolled last year into the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme, expanding access to affordable healthcare for senior citizens. He pledged to increase this number in the current year to accommodate more vulnerable residents.
In addition, plans are underway to commence infrastructural upgrades across Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Onigbongbo LCDA, aimed at enhancing service delivery, improving patient experience, and strengthening healthcare access at the community level.
Hon. Adebanjo reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing the health and wellbeing of residents, stressing that governance must consistently deliver tangible and impactful benefits to the people.
