Obasa Appointed to Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Executive Committee

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, has been appointed as a Sub-National Representative on the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), African Region.

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, has been appointed as a Sub-National Representative on the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), African Region.

The appointment, which will run from 2026 to 2029, was formally announced during plenary by the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko.

In a statement, the Assembly congratulated the Speaker on the recognition, describing the development as a reflection of the growing influence and active participation of the Lagos State legislature within the Commonwealth parliamentary community.

As part of his new responsibilities, Obasa is expected to begin his tenure by participating in the 90th Executive Committee meeting scheduled to hold in Swakopmund, Namibia.
