
The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Akeem Olalekan Dauda, has sworn in the newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers at a ceremony held at the council secretariat in Ikeja.

The oath of office was administered by the Director of Legal Services of the council, Olubusola Bailey, who urged the appointees to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the law and in the best interest of the residents of Ikeja.

Those sworn in include Prince Yinka Illo as Secretary to the Local Government, alongside Supervisory Councillors; Hon. Edward Aragbonfo, Mr. Omotayo Aderinola, Hon. Adeshola Adeniyi, Mr. Dada Adams, Hon. Ayotunde Adenuga, Mr. Matthew Ojewunmi, Mr. Segun Aderowo, Barr. Pelumi Ologunde, and Mrs. Funmbi Akinduro.

Others include Special Advisers; Mrs. Jumoke Ogunyemi, Mr. Oluwaseun Makinde, Mr. Joseph Christopher, Mrs. Folashade Bajobi, Hon. Ganiyu Oladeji, Hon. Femi Adeyemi, Mr. Austin Omoruyi and Chief Saheed Ekundayo.
In his remarks, Comrade Dauda congratulated the officials and described their appointments as a call to service.

He charged them to demonstrate dedication, loyalty and commitment to the development of the local government, stressing that their collective efforts would strengthen the administration’s drive to deliver effective governance and improved welfare for residents.

The Council Chairman also urged the appointees to work in unity, uphold transparency and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and transformation of Ikeja.

Dignitaries at the ceremony included the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko; Apex Leader and former Vice Chairman of APC Lagos West, Chief Funso Ologunde; Chairman and Chancellor Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Engr Kehinde Akinola; the immediate past APC Chairman in Ikeja LGA, Mayegun Dally Adeokun; his successor, the current APC Chairman in Ikeja, Hon. Adebowale Adetoro; as well as other party leaders and stakeholders.

All the appointees had earlier undergone a screening exercise before the Councillors at the Legislative Council Chamber in the morning prior to the inauguration ceremony.
