No Crisis in Lagos APC Over Refund Delay, Aspirants Insist

The Conference of 2025 Chairmanship Aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed reports of an internal crisis within the party over the delay in the refund of nomination fees.

The Conference of 2025 Chairmanship Aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed reports of an internal crisis within the party over the delay in the refund of nomination fees.

In a statement to Lagos Panorama Online News, issued by its Convener, Mr. Shola Opeyemi Taiwo, the group described as unfounded media reports suggesting that tensions were brewing in the Lagos chapter of the party due to the delayed refunds.

According to the aspirants, there is no crisis in the Lagos APC, noting that members understand the administrative pressures currently facing the State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.

The group explained that the refund process had already commenced prior to the party’s congresses, following an alphabetical order, with some aspirants having received their payments.

They further clarified that the report published by Sahara Reporters and other media platforms did not emanate from the conference of aspirants, stressing that the Convener was not aware of the claims before they were circulated.

The aspirants alleged that political opponents were attempting to exploit the situation to create unnecessary division within the party.

They appealed to colleagues yet to receive their cheques to remain calm, assuring that the refund process would resume immediately after the conclusion of the ongoing party congresses, in line with the assurance earlier given by the State Chairman.

The Conference reaffirmed its commitment to party unity and urged members to disregard what it described as attempts to sow discord within the Lagos APC.
