Faleke Empowers 150 Ikeja Teachers in Three-Day Training Workshop

The Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has concluded a three-day capacity-building programme for secondary school teachers, with 150 educators benefiting from the initiative.

The workshop, which drew participants from all 25 secondary schools within Ikeja Federal Constituency, focused on the prevention and early detection of substance abuse among students, as well as the effective integration of technology into classroom teaching.

During the sessions, participants were trained to identify behavioural warning signs associated with substance abuse and apply early intervention strategies. The programme also introduced teachers to digital tools and innovative teaching techniques aimed at enhancing classroom delivery, student engagement and overall learning outcomes.

At the closing ceremony, certificates of participation were presented to the 150 teachers in recognition of their commitment to professional development. They were also provided with instructional materials to support the implementation of newly acquired knowledge in their respective schools.

Participants commended the lawmaker for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention, noting that the training would strengthen teaching standards and improve student support systems across the constituency.

Faleke reaffirmed his commitment to advancing education in Ikeja, stressing that investment in teachers remains central to building a knowledgeable, disciplined and future-ready generation.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to promote human capital development and enhance educational outcomes within the constituency.
