The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance and Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has chaired a meeting of the House Ad-Hoc Committee on Export Grant set up to investigate revenue losses and leakages linked to tax incentives, export incentive waivers, and exemptions.
According to a statement shared on his official social media handle, the ad-hoc committee was constituted by the leadership of the House of Representatives to examine the effectiveness of existing export incentive frameworks and identify gaps that have contributed to revenue shortfalls. During the meeting, the committee engaged consultants and deliberated on practical modalities for the successful implementation of the investigative exercise.
In a related development, Rt. Hon. Faleke disclosed that he was honoured by members of the Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria Group (RTIFN), who paid him a courtesy visit at his office and formally presented him with the position of Patron of the group.
The lawmaker also revealed that he participated as a member of the House Conference Committee on the Electoral Act. The committee is tasked with harmonising the versions of the Electoral Act passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s electoral framework.
Rt. Hon. Faleke reaffirmed his commitment to legislative oversight, fiscal accountability, and electoral reforms in line with national development objectives.
