The Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, has paid a condolence visit to the ancient town of Badagry following the passing of the revered monarch, Aholu Babatunde Akran, De Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi I.
In a statement shared on her social media platform, Senator Adebule described the late monarch as a man of peace, wisdom and compassion who devoted nearly 49 years to leading the Badagry Kingdom with grace and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of his people.
She noted that the peaceful transition of the respected traditional ruler at the age of 89 was a testament to divine grace upon his life and reign.
The senator was accompanied on the visit by several dignitaries, including Rt. Hon. Sesi Whingan, a member of the House of Representatives; Hon. Seesi Whinga; Hon. Aramide Giwanson; Barrister Kehinde Daniel; Alhaji Hodonu, among others.
Senator Adebule also commiserated with the Lagos State Government, the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs—where the late monarch served as Permanent Vice-Chairman—the royal family, as well as the people and government of Badagry over the irreparable loss.
She prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed monarch, urging the people of Badagry to take solace in the enduring legacy of service and unity he left behind.
