In a solemn tribute, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid homage to the brave men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, noting that although their names may not always be widely remembered, their sacrifices continue to sustain the nation’s freedom and peace. He stressed that a nation that forgets its fallen heroes risks losing its sense of direction, adding that Nigeria remains grateful and resolute in remembrance.

The President also extended heartfelt words to the families of fallen soldiers, including widows, children, and loved ones, acknowledging the depth of their loss and the enduring pain left behind. He assured them that the nation would never forget the honourable service and ultimate sacrifice of their loved ones.

President Tinubu further commended serving military personnel across the country, recognising their dedication on land, sea, and air. He praised their discipline, courage, and professionalism, often displayed under difficult conditions and far from home, as they continue to safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty and security.

Reaffirming his role as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Tinubu pledged continued commitment to the welfare and dignity of members of the Armed Forces, emphasising that a secure Nigeria stands firmly behind those who defend it.

He concluded with prayers for the repose of fallen heroes, strength for serving personnel, and blessings for the nation.
