- Hundreds of families in Alausa Ward, Ikeja, benefited from a Yuletide food relief initiative as the Executive Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore, distributed mini bags of rice to residents in his immediate community.

The distribution exercise, which commenced three days earlier, culminated on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Sunday Adigun Street, Ikeja, as part of efforts to support residents during the Christmas season.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Omisore described the initiative as a modest way of giving back to the people and sharing in the joy of the festive period.
He noted that the gesture also aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, as well as the Ikeja Agenda, both of which emphasise people-centred governance and social support.
While acknowledging that the relief package could not reach every household, the Vice Chairman expressed confidence that it would provide meaningful support to beneficiaries during the Yuletide season.
Hon. Omisore also urged residents, particularly youths, to remain calm and peaceful throughout the festive period, emphasising the importance of unity and social harmony.
He further assured the community of his commitment to consolidating and improving the scope of such relief initiatives in subsequent years.
The Yuletide outreach was received with appreciation by residents, many of whom commended the Vice Chairman for his grassroots engagement and support during the holiday season.
Also in attendance were the Councillor representing the ward and Majority Leader of the Ikeja Legislative Council, Hon. Ganiyu Lawal; leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ward, led by Alhaji Lateef Ajenifuja; market women, and other community stakeholders.
