Lagos APC Celebrates Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon at 66
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated former Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS) on the occasion of his 66th birthday, describing him as a distinguished statesman, accomplished legislator and steadfast progressive.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Lagos APC Spokesman, Mogaji (Hon.) Seye Oladejo, the party said Senator Solomon remains one of the finest products of Lagos politics, with a public life defined by consistency of ideals, depth of experience and an unwavering commitment to good governance.
Born on December 19, 1959, Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon is a prominent APC Lagos chieftain and served as Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District from June 5, 2007 to June 6, 2015. During his time in the National Assembly, he was noted for his legislative engagement and contributions to national and constituency development.
The party noted that beyond his tenure in the Senate, Senator Solomon has made wide-ranging contributions across legislative, administrative and party platforms, which continue to serve as reference points for principled leadership and progressive politics.
A key member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the APC described him as a politician whose career has been anchored on ideological clarity and unwavering loyalty to progressive values, stressing that his political journey reflects conviction rather than convenience.
According to the statement, Senator Solomon has also distinguished himself as a bridge-builder, mentor and stabilising influence within the progressive family. His calm disposition, strategic insight and ability to place collective interest above personal ambition have earned him respect across party lines and generations.
“As he marks 66, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon exemplifies a rare blend of wisdom, relevance and service,” the statement read, adding that his life underscores the enduring value of discipline in public conduct, loyalty to ideals and faith in the progressive project as a vehicle for societal advancement.
