Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has concluded its three-day 2026 Budget Retreat, reaffirming its commitment to fiscal discipline, improved service delivery, sustainable growth and the building of resilient communities.
The retreat, which held from Saturday, December 13 to Monday, December 15, 2025, at Osmark Hotel and Suites, Ibadan, Oyo State, was themed “Sustainable Growth for All: Investing in Resilient Communities.” It was designed as a strategic governance engagement to align policy direction, strengthen planning and accelerate inclusive development.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, described the retreat as a critical platform for strategic reflection and forward-looking planning. He stressed that the 2026 budget would prioritise sustainable development, community resilience, transparency and strict adherence to due process, particularly in public procurement, to ensure value for money.
The retreat also featured the Annual Procurement and Planning Summit, with a sub-theme aimed at deepening understanding of public procurement procedures and best practices. Resource persons, including Mr. Ambali Taofiki Oluwakemi and Dr. Adeleke Adeniyi, delivered detailed presentations on procurement laws, effective planning frameworks and the council’s evolving digital governance initiatives.
On the second day, participants were taken through a session titled “Enhancing Revenue Generation through Community Engagement in Ojodu LCDA,” presented by Mr. Gafarr M. Ademola of the Budget Department. The session focused on fiscal strategies and revenue optimisation, as stakeholders reviewed the proposed 2026 budget estimates.
Key deliberations underscored the need for the digitalisation of revenue collection processes, enhanced capacity building, improved staff motivation and better welfare structures to strengthen the council’s revenue base and operational efficiency.
The retreat concluded with a collective resolve by participants to deliver a transparent, people-centred and development-driven 2026 budget that will further advance the growth and transformation of Ojodu LCDA in line with the HEYSRELOADED Agenda.
