The Super Eagles will play a warm-up match against Egypt on 16 December at the Cairo Stadium before heading to Fès, Morocco, for their Group C campaign. Nigeria will face Tanzania on 23 December, Tunisia on 27 December, and Uganda on 30 December.
However, the squad announcement sparked debate among football followers, particularly with the inclusion of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, whose recent performances have drawn criticism. Maduka Okoye, who many analysts consider to be in stronger form, was omitted from the squad despite expectations that he would return to the team.
The selection has renewed questions about the team’s technical direction ahead of the continental tournament, with some stakeholders expressing concern about the Eagles’ readiness and chances of progressing from their group.
