Zamfara — The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has scored a major operational success following precision air strikes on a high-ground bandit stronghold in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State. The air interdiction mission, conducted on 14 November 2025, targeted the Sauri camp, a known hideout used by terrorists for defensive operations and to conceal rustled livestock.

According to an official press release by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the strikes were based on detailed intelligence and surveillance confirming active criminal operations in the area. Multiple coordinated sorties successfully hit the identified targets, neutralising numerous terrorists and destroying critical structures and logistics points. Surviving criminals attempting to escape into surrounding vegetation were tracked and effectively engaged by the Air Component of the Joint Task Force under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

The operation significantly weakened the terrorists’ operational capabilities and demonstrated the NAF’s commitment to protecting communities in Zamfara State. Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff, reiterated the force’s determination to “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”

This mission highlights the continued resolve of the Joint Task Force and the NAF to deny terrorists safe havens, enhance security in the North West, and support national efforts to restore lasting peace and stability.
