The Nigeria Police Academy has successfully concluded the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Interview for cadets of Regular Course 7, held from October 22 to 25, 2025. The exercise was led by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of Training and Development, Frank Emeka Mba, MNI, who evaluated the cadets’ readiness for the forthcoming Passing-Out Parade (POP) and their suitability for professional policing duties.
Addressing the cadets, DIG Mba underscored the importance of discipline, professionalism, and continuous self-improvement, urging them to embody the finest traditions of the Nigeria Police Force. He cautioned that any act of misconduct or violation of the law, even at this stage, could lead to dismissal, emphasizing that “it is not over until it is over.”
The Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, MSc (UK), MBA (USA), psc, and his management team were in attendance throughout the exercise, reaffirming the Academy’s commitment to producing officers of high moral character, integrity, and competence.
On October 25, DIG Mba also inspected rehearsals for the upcoming Passing-Out Parade, commending the Academy for its organizational excellence and high standards. He particularly applauded the inclusion of a female cadet in the Colour Party, describing it as a testament to the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to gender inclusion in the Force.
The event also featured an impressive combat display by the Tactical Combat Team, which earned praise for its precision, discipline, and readiness for field operations.
According to the Academy, the IGP Interview remains a crucial stage in assessing the cadets’ overall fitness and readiness for service in the Nigeria Police Force. The official date for the Passing-Out Parade will be announced in due course.
