Lagos APC dismisses George’s claims as desperate revisionism

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed Chief Bode George over his remarks comparing the administrations of former President Goodluck Jonathan with those of Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement signed by the party’s spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the APC described George’s position as “a desperate attempt by a perennial critic to rewrite history and mislead Nigerians.”

“Jonathan presided over the most wasteful and corrupt administration in Nigeria’s history.” — APC

According to the APC, Jonathan’s government squandered an oil boom, institutionalised looting, and left Nigeria with a broken economy and deep insecurity.

“His era is remembered more for missing billions, oil theft, impunity, and corruption than for any tangible achievement,” Oladejo declared.

Buhari Stabilised, Tinubu Reforming

The party argued that while Buhari restored integrity to the armed forces, mounted an anti-corruption campaign, and completed abandoned infrastructure, Tinubu has gone further by tackling deep-seated structural rot.

“From ending the fraudulent subsidy regime to reforms in the forex market, bold agricultural interventions, stipends for technical education students, and massive infrastructural renewal, President Tinubu is already resetting Nigeria for sustainable growth,” the statement read.

“Bode George is a political paperweight in Lagos.” — APC

Oladejo dismissed George as a man with no electoral weight, noting that he has never won his polling unit or ward in Lagos.

“His inconsistency betrays a lack of principle. He flip-flops for convenience, driven not by patriotism but by bitterness and personal grievances,” the APC said, while also pointing to George’s controversial record at the Nigerian Ports Authority.

Nigeria Has Moved On

The party insisted that George’s defense of Jonathan only serves as a reminder of why the PDP was rejected at the polls.

“History is clear: Jonathan failed, Buhari stabilised, and Tinubu is reforming. Nigeria is in safe hands. Chief George’s relevance expired long ago; he should bow out gracefully and spare Nigerians his bitter tirades,” Oladejo concluded.
