Lagos APC Hails President’s Reformist Zeal, Calls for National Unity
The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his stirring Independence Day address to the nation as Nigeria marked its 65th anniversary.
In a statement signed by the party’s spokesman, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC described the President’s broadcast as both “a chronicle of hard-won achievements and a message of renewed hope for a nation on the cusp of greatness.”
Uncommon Courage, Bold Reforms
The party noted that in less than three years, President Tinubu has demonstrated the uncommon courage and visionary leadership needed to rebuild Nigeria after decades of waste, corruption, and inertia.
It listed landmark achievements highlighted in the President’s address, including:
Economic Reforms: Removal of the corrupt fuel subsidy and harmonisation of foreign exchange regimes, unlocking trillions for education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Revenue Growth: Record non-oil revenue of over ₦20 trillion by August 2025, steering Nigeria towards diversification and self-sufficiency.
Fiscal Stability: Naira stabilisation, stronger reserves, and a halved debt service-to-revenue ratio.
Oil & Gas Revival: Historic rebound in production and refining, alongside Nigeria’s rise as Africa’s leading exporter of aviation fuel.
Infrastructure Boom: Flagship projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Kaduna-Kano rail, Kano-Katsina-Maradi line, and Sokoto-Badagry Highway.
Security Gains: Restored peace in previously troubled regions and significant degradation of terrorist networks.
Social Investment: ₦330 billion disbursed to vulnerable households, with student loan schemes benefiting over 500,000 youths.
Youth Empowerment: Initiatives like Credicorp, YouthCred, and iDICE, equipping young Nigerians for leadership in digital innovation and entrepreneurship.
Agricultural Revival: Food security measures, subsidies, and farmer support to stabilise food supply.
Global Recognition: Upgraded sovereign ratings, surging capital markets, and renewed investor confidence.
Hope Beyond Hardship
According to the Lagos APC, President Tinubu’s assurance that “the worst is over” and “yesterday’s pains are giving way to relief” speaks directly to the resilience of Nigerians who have endured temporary hardship for long-term renewal.
“The light at the end of the tunnel is no longer a distant promise—it is within sight,” the statement read.
A Leader Fit for the Moment
At 65, Nigeria, the Lagos APC argued, has turned a historic corner under a leader whose courage, foresight, and tenacity have put the nation back on the path to greatness.
“We stand firmly behind the President’s reformist zeal, his clarity of vision, and his determination to deliver food on every table, power in every home, quality education for every child, and security in every community,” the party declared.
Call for Unity
The Lagos APC urged Nigerians to rally behind the President, ignore the “propaganda of doomsayers,” and embrace the collective responsibility of building a prosperous, self-reliant, and secure nation.
“Long live President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Long live the All Progressives Congress.”
