Prioritise electorate over party affiliations, Tinubu’s wife to politicians

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on politicians to place the interests of the electorate above party allegiance in the discharge of their duties.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on politicians to place the interests of the electorate above party allegiance in the discharge of their duties.

She made the call on Friday during a stakeholders’ meeting organised by her Renewed Hope Initiative, held with traditional rulers and religious leaders in Lagos.

Senator Tinubu emphasised that public service should be rooted in commitment to the people, not merely loyalty to political platforms.

“Our priority as leaders must always be the welfare of those who elected us, not just the interests of our political parties,” she said.

The meeting, which brought together key community influencers, focused on strengthening grassroots engagement and fostering unity for national development through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

The First Lady also reaffirmed her commitment to supporting policies and programmes that promote peace, development, and the well-being of all Nigerians.
