LASU overtakes UNILORIN as Nigeria’s most preferred University

Lagos State University (LASU) has become the most sought-after university in Nigeria, according to the latest data from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Lagos State University (LASU) has become the most sought-after university in Nigeria, according to the latest data from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The announcement was made on Tuesday during the 2024 JAMB Policy Meeting held in Abuja.

For many years, the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) was the top choice for students applying to Nigerian universities. It gained this reputation because of its stable academic calendar and minimal cases of strikes or industrial action, which allowed students to complete their studies without unnecessary delays.

However, this year’s data shows that LASU has now overtaken UNILORIN to become the number one choice among applicants.

Many students now see LASU as a university that offers quality education, a good learning environment, and growing opportunities for research and development.

The new ranking is expected to further boost LASU’s popularity and encourage more investments in the university’s facilities and programmes.

More information about the admission statistics and other universities’ rankings will be released later.
