
Rt. Hon. (Dr.) James Abiodun Faleke, the distinguished lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, convened a gathering of political leaders, party faithfuls, and community members from Ikeja LG, Onigbongbo LCDA, and Ojodu LCDA to commemorate June 12 Democracy Day.

In addition to his legislative responsibilities at the National Assembly, the ranking lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Faleke ensured the event’s successful execution, reaffirming his commitment to making it an annual celebration to honor Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairmanship candidate for Ikeja Local Government Council, and a distinguished political activist, expressed his gratitude to Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke for sponsoring the event and commended the resilience of Nigerians, particularly Ikeja residents, in a chat with Lagos Panorama at the event.
Lagbaja, as he is fondly referred to by his political associates, affirmed that as the nation observes June 12 Democracy Day, stating, “On this historic occasion of Democracy Day, I join millions of Nigerians to celebrate the unwavering spirit of our people, the sacrifices of our heroes past, and the lasting legacy of June 12 as the genuine expression of the people’s will” the APC Ikeja Chairmanship candidate asserted.

The commemoration, held at LTV 8 Blueroof in the Agidingbi area of Ikeja, drew the presence of dignitaries including the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku, the APC Chairmanship Candidate for Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyo Adebanjo.

The commemoration of June 12 was attended by the Apex leaders of the APC and other stakeholders in the Ikeja Federal Constituency, Chairman APC Ojodu LCDA Alhaja Olusola Kokumo and her counterparts from Onigbongbo LCDA, Alhaja Akerele, the Publisher and Editor of Lagos Panorama Comrade Tayo Aderinola, Hon. Sonola Oladele, Chief Matthew Adesanya, Chief (Mrs.) Modupe Olaiya, Princess (Mrs.) Toyin Obaseki, serving councillors, Supervisory Councillors, and all 18 Councillorship candidates across Ikeja Federal Constituency.

The event marked a first for the constituency, symbolizing remembrance of the struggle for June 12, unity in diversity, and peaceful coexistence of political leaders and stakeholders, reaffirming their commitment to service, progress, and good governance.
