Youth Empowerment: NYCN Partners LASRRA

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State recently paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) Headquarters on Tuesday as part of measures to forge a strategic alliance the Agency.

Led it’s Chairman Ibrahim Olalekan Adigun, the visit aimed at bolstering youth-focused initiatives aligned with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda.

The General Manager of LASRRA, Ms. Adebiyi Abisola Olusanya while welcoming the NYCN delegation, emphasised the Agency’s commitment to enhancing administrative synergy for youth engagement, empowerment, and employment within the state.

During the meeting, Ms. Olusanya expressed her gratitude for the visit and lauded the NYCN’s dedication to youth development. She affirmed LASRRA’s readiness to support endeavours promoting inclusivity, precise data management, and improved access to opportunities for young Lagos residents.

Chairman Adigun underscored the pivotal role of the collaboration, stating, “As the leading youth organization in Lagos, we are confident that partnering with vital agencies like LASRRA will facilitate data-driven empowerment policies, enhance youth access to employment programmes, and deepen civic participation among residents.”

Part of the resolutions reached was to establish a joint working group to identify immediate collaborative opportunities, particularly in areas such as digital youth registration, public awareness campaigns, and streamlining access to government interventions through accurate resident data.

This strategic engagement highlights the shared dedication of both organizations to the principles of inclusive governance and the progressive vision of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

A key moment of the visit was the symbolic presentation of an NYCN emblem of Authority and a branded T-shirt to Ms. Adebiyi Olusanya, acknowledging her diverse contributions to the youth community.

Her formal confirmation and induction as a Comrade Ambassador will take place at the upcoming Youth and Governance Symposium scheduled for the Molade Okoya Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
