President Tinubu inaugurates Ibas as Sole Administrator for Rivers State 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Retired) as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, with the ceremony taking place at the State House in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Wednesday.

This came after a brief meeting with the President following his appointment.

The ceremony was held in the President’s office and was attended by key officials, including Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; Lateef Fagbemi, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice; Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Principal Private Secretary to the President; and Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

The President administered the oath of office at approximately 3 pm. As previously reported, President Tinubu appointed Ibas on Tuesday evening to assume control of Rivers State’s affairs, following the declaration of a state of emergency due to the worsening political crisis in the state.
