President Bola Tinubu held a private meeting with Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, aka Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 general election, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
The meeting, which occurred between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, was not publicly disclosed by the Presidency, but sources confirmed its occurrence.
It is worth noting that Jandor had announced his resignation from the PDP on March 4th, 2025, citing persistent anti-party activities, internal sabotage, and lack of discipline within the party.
Jandor alleged at a recent media briefing in Lagos that certain party leaders saw his candidacy as a threat to their interests and therefore worked against him.
He pointed to specific instances of attacks on his campaign and condemnation from party leaders.
Jandor accused the Lagos State Chairman of the party, Philip Aivoji, of issuing a false statement across all PDP platforms, claiming that Jandor had withdrawn from the 2023 governorship election.
Jandor also accused Chief Olabode George, a prominent PDP leader in Lagos State, of openly endorsing the gubernatorial candidate of another party and advising Lagos residents against voting for his party.
