The Court of Appeal in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, has upheld the death sentence of Dr Ramon Adedoyin, a popular hotel owner, who was found guilty of murdering Timothy Adegoke, an ex-Master’s student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

On Thursday, the appellate court delivered its judgment, affirming the Osun State High Court’s decision to sentence Adedoyin to death.

The appeal court had reserved its judgment on October 29, 2024.

It further noted that the “Order of forfeiture of Hilton Hotel quashed and set aside. Order of education scholarship to children of Timothy Adegoke by Adedoyin and others quashed and set aside.”

Recall Lagos Panorama’s report that Adegoke was discovered deceased in November 2021 at Adedoyin’s Hilton Honours Hotel, Ile-Ife, where the deceased had lodged.
