The administration of Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku, Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, commenced the 2025 Budget Retreat Programme on Thursday, 31st October, 2024 at Osmak Hotels, Ibadan.
The annual retreat, a significant event on the LCDA’s calendar, provides a platform for strategic planning and evaluation to shape the forthcoming fiscal year’s objectives and community-driven initiatives.
The day’s activities began with the arrival and registration of key stakeholders and participants, setting the stage for an intensive, goal-oriented session.
In his opening address, Hon. Odunmbaku emphasized the importance of fiscal discipline and visionary planning, noting that the retreat will address critical issues impacting Ojodu LCDA’s economic outlook and sustainable development goals for 2025.
The first lecture of the day, delivered by Mrs. Jumoke Ola from Leadman Africa, centered on “Thriving in a Challenging Economy.” Mrs. Ola’s insights provided valuable strategies for navigating economic uncertainties and optimizing resources. She highlighted the importance of innovation, community involvement, and public-private partnerships as pathways to resilience and growth.
Following this, Mr. Tony Brown, a renowned expert in financial operations, presented a lecture on “Effective Operation of POS Systems.”
Mr. Brown’s session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of modern financial tools to increase revenue streams within the LCDA and streamline community-based services. He detailed actionable strategies for utilizing digital payment platforms to boost the efficiency of council operations, which drew interest from both attendees and facilitators alike.
The day’s agenda also included a collaborative brainstorming and review session, led by Council Treasurer Mr. Ibraheem Oladapo and Vice Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, focusing on the LCDA’s revenue performance for 2024. This critical review session enabled stakeholders to assess previous revenue targets, identify challenges faced, and establish achievable goals for the upcoming fiscal year.
Hon. Odunmbaku reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent financial management, community development, and service delivery. As the retreat progresses, the Ojodu LCDA leadership and stakeholders are expected to formulate actionable policies that align with the administration’s vision for progress and sustainability in 2025.
