After thrashing Benin Republic, check out when the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on Rwanda in their 2nd AFCON 2025 qualifier.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria’s first 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier game, they defeated the Cheetahs of Benin Republic 3-0.

This is coming after a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, Nigeria lost 1-2 on the road against Benin Republic during the most recent international break.

Ademola Lookman’s goal in extra time gave Nigeria the lead when he dribbled past three players.

Victor Osimhen in the 78th minute, scored the second goal by converting a cross from Wilfred Ndidi.

In the 83rd minute, Lookman completed a brace by heading in a cross from Moses Simon to score Nigeria’s third goal.

Rwanda vs Nigeria preview

Just like Benin Republic, Rwanda are in the same group 2026 World Cup qualification group as Nigeria.

While Nigeria are struggling, Rwanda are top of the group and will aim to send the Super Eagles a strong message in front of their home fans in Kigali.

Nigeria and Rwanda and Rwanda have met five different times for international football.

Nigeria have two wins, the other three are draws while Rwanda are still searching for their first victory.

Time and where to watch Rwanda vs Nigeria

The game between Rwanda and Nigeria will take place on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024.

The Super Eagles have landed in Kigali where they will play Rwanda, at the 45,508-seat multipurpose Amahoro Stadium.

The match at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali will kick off at 2.00 PM Nigerian time.
