The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Oladotun Olakanle joins other Lagos State Community in Year 2024 Annual Tree Planting Exercise at Maryland Crescent Estate. Today Sunday, 14th July, 2024.
Hon Olakanle in his keynote address to Stakeholders present said that “Trees make life better. It has been shown that spending time among trees and green spaces reduces the amount of stress that we carry around with us in our daily lives” Said the Council Chairman.
The programme was organized by Lagos State Government and was held simultaneously across the state
This year’s exercise was themed “NUTURE OUR FUTURE”. It was aimed to enlighten Lagosians on the importance of tree planting.
The Opening Prayer was done by the Baba Oja of Onigbongbo, Alhaji Rasak Akerele, while the closing the prayer by the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Glory Igbafe and vote of thanks was delivered by the supervisor for Environment, Hon. Wale Akinbolade, while the audience applauded his wonderful message.
Also the CDC Chairman, Comrade. Ibikunle Oluwo and the Council Leader, Hon Kayode Opayemi addresses the audience on importance and benefits of Tree Planting in our community.
The event was colorful and graced with many dignitaries across the community. In attendance were; the cabinet members of the Local Council, head of the management team, head of departments, community leaders, Onigbongbo CDC/CDA as well as loyalist and members of Onigbongbo LCDA.
