A Chinese national, Frank Geng-Quangrong has been sentenced to death by a Kano State High Court for murdering his girlfriend, Ummulkhulsum Buhari.
Quangrong was accused of killing Buhari because they had a disagreement. The Chinese charged with culpable homicide told the court that he only killed her in self defence.
He said he had to stab her because she grabbed his testicles when they had a quarrel. “I didn’t kill Ummulkhulsum intentionally but stabbed her in self-defence after she grabbed my testes,” Ouangrong had said.
He had then pleaded with court presided over by Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji to temper justice with mercy.
But the court found him guilty of murder and passed the maximum sentence. The judge ordered he die by hanging.
