The Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Akinbode Obadina has emphasised the importance of teamwork and collaboration to produce a competent workforce that is disciplined and productive.
Addressing members of staff of the Commission at an interactive session on Monday, the Permanent Secretary described work synergy as crucial in the attainment of organisational set objectives and mandates.
He informed that the interactive session will serve as a platform to gather information about some of the challenges hindering the effective discharge of duties among staff to address them.
Mr. Obadina stressed the need to deepen collaboration and further imbibe the spirit of teamwork in the daily discharge of the mandate of the Commission.
While appreciating the members of staff for their contributions and support in moving the Commission forward, Obadina attributed the successes and achievements recorded within the last two months of his redeployment to the Commission to the collective efforts and support received from the staff.
He charged the Commission staff to be more dutiful in the discharge of their duties, emphasising that the schedule of every individual staff is critical to the actualisation of the overall mandate of the Commission.
The highlight of the meeting was words of encouragement from Heads of Directorates to inspire members of staff and the assurance of rededication towards the implementation and realisation of the Commission’s programmes through improved service delivery.
Representatives of the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Services, led by the Head, Donor Education Department, Mrs. Temitope Balogun also used the occasion to canvass Voluntary Blood Donor support through sensitisation from the Commission staff.
She enumerated some of the benefits of regular blood donation, stimulation of more blood, reduction on the risk of heart attack and allowing donors to know their health status.
