The Lagos Eko Lions Club Region 3 D404A3 has organized an extensive health fair for residents of the Brazilian Quarters Community Development Area in the Lagos Island on the 30th November 2023.

The event was dedicated to two of Lions Club International’s Global Causes: Diabetes and Vision.
The President of the Club Lion Olutosin Oyenusi in a chat with Lagos Panorama stated that two of seven Lion’s Clubs International’s Global Causes, which include, diabetes, vision, hunger, environment, childhood cancer, youth empowerment and humanitarian service were addressed at the health fair.
He noted that, Diabetes segment included: Educational talks on raising awareness, Screenings for diabetes, Distribution of medications based on individual needs.
Oyenusi said “this endeavor was achieved through collaboration with the DOAM Foundation”.
“The Vision segment encompassed: Eye examinations, Provision of eyeglasses (60 individuals benefited), Sponsorship of cataract surgeries for three recipients”.

“Additionally, the event offered checks for tuberculosis and blood pressure, among other health-related activities”.
In total, the health fair successfully assisted 210 residents in accessing these vital services.
The President Lagos Eko Lions Club, Lion Oyenusi noted that the health outreach will be as often but must be observed at least once during a particular Lion Service Year.
