
Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro has presented medals and cash prizes to some of the winners in the ongoing Year 2023 HOS Games, in Tables Tennis, Chess, Scrabble and Ayo Olopon, while Trophies and Medals would be presented to the winners in the finals of the Football competition and Tug of War in the male and female categories at a later date to be announced.
Speaking at the event, Agoro said he was impressed with the level of the HoS Games and promised to increase the scope of the tournament to accommodate more public servants.
While urging public servants to get involved in the tournament, Agoro said the essence was to encourage the psycho-motor development of a healthy and alert workforce towards the provision of effective and efficient service delivery to Lagosians.
Also speaking at the presentation, the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs Sunkanmi Oyegbola, promised to give more time for Ministries, Departments and Agencies, including Local Government and Local Council Development Areas to register for the tournament next year.

Oyegbola, who is also the Chairman, Local Organising Committee, said the presentation of the award was done to reduce the stress and the crowdedness during the grand finale.
In the Table Tennis men’s single, Hamzat Omolade from Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), emerged winner, while in the female’s single, Bose Odusanya from the Public Service Office (PSO) crowned the champion.

In the male category for the Chess, Enenebaku Francis and Aborisade Olubusayo from Health Service Commission came first and second, followed by Jinadu Olanrewaju, from the Ministry of Agriculture.
In the female category, Oke Abiodun from the Ministry of Environment and Water Resource, followed by Olabisi Oluwaseun from Ministry of Youth and Social Development, while Lawal Mopelola from Health Service Commission emerged third.
In the Scrabble event, those who won in the male category are Olaribigbe Hakeem from Lagos State Parks and Garden, Akanbi Monsuru from Office of Works and Oloro Opeyemi from Lands Bureau, while in the female category, the winners are Onyagada Veronica from State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Ajayi Esther from Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) and Adedigba Taibat from Central Business District (CBD).
For the male Category in Ayo Olopon, Ajayi Babatunde from State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) came first, followed by Ajulo Gbamila from Education District I, while Gbadamosi Olusola from Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) came third.
In the female category, Aiyegbusi Kemi of Lagos State Sports Commission emerged winner, while Fatimoh Alabi from Education District II, was runner-up and Muminat Ogidan from Education District II emerged third.
Meanwhile, Bose Odusanya from the Public Service Office, PSO who was crowned the champion in the Table Tennis female’s single, commended the Lagos State government for the opportunity created for staff to showcase talent.
Odusanya, who was so excited about the tournament, promised to train more and win the competition again next year.
The Men’s Table-Tennis Champion for the third consecutive time, Hamzat Omolade in a chat with Lagos Panorama expressed his gratitude to the governor, HoS and the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) for making it possible for him and others have the platform to exhibit their talents.
Omolade who also with his team-mate from LASUED won the men’s doubles said he looks forward to winning more laurels in subsequent editions and advised other athletes not to relent, to work hard and be determine to achieve success.
