It was indeed the grand finale on Monday as All Progressive Congress Onigbongbo LCDA ward E, Oregun hosted the Ikeja Federal Constituency Walk-Through-Rally, to complete the 18 wards’ campaigns which began in December with the aim to sensitize the people and solicit electoral support for all the APC Candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
The walk-through-rally took off from Julie Estate Oregun after being declared open by Chairman APC Ikeja LGA and Conference of the 57 LGA Chairmen in Lagos State, Alhaji Dally Adeokun, with the support of Onigbongbo LCDA Chairperson Alhaja Iyabo Akerele, en route Lawal street and other adjourning streets before being terminated at Olanrewaju street, for the reception.
Other Party leaders that took part in the walk rally include the Executive Chairman Onigbongbo LCDA, Honorable Oladotun Olakanle and the House of Assembly candidate for Ikeja Constituency 1, Prince Seyi Lawal both of who are from the ward, with Alhaja Iyabo Akerele.
Others include Ojodu LCDA Chairperson Alhaja Olusola Kokumo, Prince Ranti Olufon and Dr. Bode Tawak, LGA Executives, Counsellors, Party members, and other Stakeholders from Ikeja Federal Constituency.
During the walk-through rally, there was stop over at the House of Coordinator of Ndigbo APC in Lagos Chief Eze Uche Dimgba, who after offering prayer for all the APC Candidates in the forthcoming general elections, also presented the group with Soveniers for the campaign, promised that all his Igbo followers in Ikeja and Lagos State as a whole will vote massively for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the reelections of Babajide Sanwoolu and Rt. Hon James Abiodun Faleke and other APC Candidates during the forthcoming general elections.
In his response, Mayegun Dally Adeokun thanked the Chief and the Ndigbo people for their support and commitment to the Party.
Subsequently in his speech, Alhaji Adeokun said having completed the walkthrough rally, it is now time to commence work earnestly, he urged the people to go back to their various wards and start the House to House Campaign.
He however implored the 15-man Committee per Polling unit to complete their forms of 20 man each, so as to be able to achieve the set target of beating Kano State in the general elections.
Also in an interview with Lagos Panorama, Prince Seyi Lawal encouraged the people to come out enmass and vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the APC Candidates during the forthcoming elections, saying that the essence of the walk-through rally campaign which began over a month ago.
Speaking in the same vein was Honorable Oladotun Olakanle, who said that “the people have no choice but to vote for APC considering the achievement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was governor of Lagos State, said if the given opportunity will be able to translate by replicating same feet at the national level” he concluded.
The Climax of the event was sensitization of voters on the voting procedure on election day.
The Publicity Secretary of APC Ikeja Federal Constituency, Comrade Tayo Aderinola stated that the Walk-Through-Rally was to engage and sensitize the grassroots voters
He commended the party leadership and members for a successful campaign across the 18 wards of Ikeja Federal Constituency
Aderinola alluded that “all politics are local, hence, the grassroots engagement in Walk-Through-Rally by the APC Ikeja Federal Constituency to sensitize the people and solicit electoral support for all the APC Candidates in the forthcoming general elections, this is the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Local Government so we have to double our effort to set the pace for others to emulate”
“As the party Chairman directed, more efforts will be directed on the house-to-house campaign on the good deeds of our candidates and prospects if elected and reelected. I am sure the good people of Ikeja are ready to reward Jagaban, Sanwo-Olu, and the Akorede-Atunlushe of Ikeja-Land Rt. Hon Faleke for their topnotch quality service to the grassroots”.
