Her words: “They are interacting with one another and they are bonding. All these are part of what makes work easy and enjoyable. They will also be able to do what they should do on their jobs as expected. We want our staff to be health-conscious. We fully observe COVID-19 protocols during the programme”.

“We are, therefore, doing everything possible to make staffers happy, ensure that their wellbeing is intact; that they are more productive on the job and are contributing to the development of the education sector so that they can effectively train our future leaders in the State and the Country”, Ayandele stated.

The Director, Co-curricular Science and Technology, Education District III, Mrs. Aderonke Odunsi-Titus, said the participants included teachers, principals and other officers across all levels and from different locations such as Ibeju-Lekki, Epe, Lagos Island and Eti-Osa.

She said the programme was to remind the staff of the need to take physical exercises seriously, saying “This is the psychomotor aspect of education. The teachers among us are expected to go back to their schools and guide others on the training programme. They are to ensure that students are encouraged to do the same on their co-curricular days”.

Mrs. Odunsi-Titus, therefore, urged the participants to indulge in regular exercise to maintain good health and keep fit.

The Coach for the fitness exercise, Sports Consultant and Principal of Ogunmodede Senior College, Papa, Epe, Mr. Segun Osinaike, said that the two hours spent covered various exercises including jumps, squats, aerobics, dance and other simple activities that made the exercise session effective and lively.

According to him, exercise is all-encompassing and it controls the physical, mental and emotional aspects of life for overall development and stability.
